Hickey Freeman suits @ Marshall's

Just thought I'd throw this up for anyone interested. My 4 local Marshall's have all gotten in a small assortment of Hickey Freeman suits. Random sizes and colors, but they were all on clearance for $300.

Several stores also had a few Hartmann briefcases and bags. I picked up a nice messenger/case for $75 on clearance as well. Good hunting.

Careful -- most of those Hickey's are from the Ltd. line.

Yes I know that the Hickey Ltd. line is fused.

But at $300 for a Hickey Freeman, isn't that still a very fair deal.

I mean in an apples to apples comparison. What comes to mind as a better typical $300 suit at Marshalls, than these fused Hickey Ltd. suits?

It's an okay deal. What's better? I think Polo Blue Label are made better (slightly thinner fusing) and have better styling. You can find them at Marshalls on occassion for $400 or less. The half-canvas Arnold Brandt suits (some are half canvas, some are full canvas, though I couldn't tell you which label is which) are as good, and can often be found for under $200.

Overall, $300 for a HF Ltd. suit is a good deal if it fits and is what you're looking for, but it isn't a

find. Still, it's worth a post to let everyone know that they are on a rack at Marshalls.

FWIW, I'd let them sit there till the next round of markdowns. They'll still be there.

Fully canvassed Hickey freeman suits are commonly available for $500 at outlets such as Woodbury commons and Tanger riverhead in ny (stripes mostly). Outlet sales can drop this price to $400.

I'd wait on the HF LTD unless there is something hard to find on sale (like solid navy or charcoal), you need it soon, and it fits really well.

If I saw a Polo suit for $400 in a standard fabric, however, I'd grab it quickly!

Also, Filene's Basement frequently has them for $450.

That's exactly what I did. I saw a polo suit w/standard fabric at 399 at Marshalls and grabbed it VERY quickly =)

Is the brand Laurens by RL the same thing? I've never seen a Polo RL suit at the Marshalls I've been to for years. Also, what do you think of Polo ties? I've seen many of them at Marshalls today for around $30 each (orig. $90-105).

No, Lauren retails for much less.

The Polo blue label ties are nice, but the ones I've seen recently are skinny.

I have a taupe blue/window pane one I love that was $150 on clearance at Marshalls, but I'm pretty sure it's all fused.

Sorry, should have posted that. I'm in West Palm Beach, FL.

All the HF suits were fused. I'm not sure how to differentiate the LTD line from the higher end line but, for $300, I'm not sure where one could do much better.

You could get it for $90...I saw one on clearance the other day, called up a friend 2000 miles away as I thought it might be his size!

Don't believe it was a LTD either. Why can't I find these in my size?
