Not the most versatile IMO - I have a pair of the boots from Blackbird that I use when I need a pair of black shoes but the weather is crappy (too often here in Chicago) but I'm finding that I don't wear black shoes/boots that often.

A slight exaggeration to make a point: if you have 20 pairs of Aldens they might fill a niche; if you have 2 pairs there are others I would get first.

I have the black wingtip boot, leydon last/commando pictures a few pages back. I think it goes wel with the usual suspects, but can't quite fit a worsted suit properly. Having said that, I have worn one with my navy interview suit and it didn't look too odd. But it's a bit chunky. tbh, I was contemplating the same boot, but will probably go with the Black indy instead due to fit.

Another great make-up by Tom and the LS crew. ( And normally I don't like NST shoes)

Came across these brogued chukkas from alden of carmel from a while ago, I think they would look awesome in whiskey shell, ravello shell, pretty much any kind of shell.

Thoughts? Tom...? Bueller...Anyone?

Looks like it's trying too hard. Still, they could look great with the right (read: suitably funky) outfit.

But they look a bit too plain, but they are the only ones in my size at this time.

Plain as they may be, they're almost a staple. (I say "almost" only because they're bluchers, not oxfords, but that shouldn't stop anyone.) They'll complement nearly any outfit, and with their open lacing, they'd go well with denim, methinks. - K

Thanks. Actually it was the Oxford I was interested in. Should be a bit sleeker.
