I'd say it suspect more so because the selvage line appears to be frayed instead of, you know, self-edged. I think an old Wrangler model used to have a half-selvage outseam, although I'm pretty sure the selvage line they used wasn't red (yellow, maybe?). Pretty sure some Japanese denim company made Wrang-pros in that style at some point.
I'm not entirely sure why I remember all of this.

so i just noticed that the long(longer than most tags, but not that long) silent tag has been sticking out the whole day so far. no wonder why breezies were all like, whoa thats a silent tee. omg!!
