So WSJ did a article on the cost of designer premium denim & it's worth reading. To break it down - I know most of you know about these ludicrous mark-ups & buy from brands just for the name, but this is just crazy - a pair of True Religion signature Fall jeans (called the "Phantoms") retail for 300+ and cost the maker $50 (materials + labour) to produce!

I see guys wearing OCBD's in the summer... isn't it a really thick warm fabric? I've got a bunch but can't seem to fathom wearing one in the summer heat, even open and rolled sleeves. are there different weights or something? am I overthinking this?

I do it all the time if I need something with a collar during the summer, no big deal (unless it's stupid hot out, which it has been lately in Ontario, these days its shorts and a tee all day every day).

- Made in USA

First and last items make it more expensive. The other one's are arguable.

I have two or three pairs of 7FAM because they're the most comfortable jeans I own to this date. And I own about 50 pairs of jeans ranging from $100-$1,200. They are usually my go to jeans when I want a comfortable day out.

I couldn't have said it better in multiple multi-paragraph responses.
