Hi, its my first time here. I asked this question on Yahoo yesterday, but I got no answers so I decided to try here.

I'm going to a party with my friend, and we decided to match our clothes because we're going as dates. She said that she is going to be wearing a pink dress, so I was wondering if Brown and Pink would be complementary. Here's what I was thinking of.

Brown/Tan Blazer (http://27.media.tumblr.com/rcSEczBP9...x8tmo1_500.jpg)
Matching brown/tan pants
Matching brown/tan skinny tie
Pastel pink oxford dress shirt [labeled under misty lavender] (http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/s...5517/35517.jsp)
Matching brown Penny Loafer
Dark brown belt

Yay or Nay

Hello gentlemen,

I am looking for sweaters for small and slim men.
They should be soft, preferable at least part cashmere, preferable crew-neck, in muted colors like Fawn, Navy, Charcoal, Light Grey and in contrast to the CT ones I'd love to own - slim cut.

To give you an idea regarding approriate sizing, I am wearing Lacoste Polos of the Stretch Line in XS/2 which have a chest circumference of 36 inchs/92cm.
Also the Carhartt WIP Playoff Sweater size XS fits me well, only its quality isn't too good.

Any experiences with todays Pringe of Scotland products?

Thanks a lot in advance!

What's the standard measurement of a 15.75/40 shirt. Basically what will be the sleeve length and shoulder width ?

Sounds okay, brown and pink certainly go well together. One point though - if the 'blazer' and trousers are from exactly the same fabric, then it's not a blazer/trousers, they are a suit. But, if they are from different but similar fabrics then they should not be worn together, it will look like you tried to put on a suit but got dressed in the dark and grabbed the wrong trousers, you should instead wear trousers that contrast with the blazer.

Yes, brown and pink are complementary colors. No, matching your date is not a good idea.

Hi All,

First post:

Headed to a wedding this weekend and need some help with shoes/accessories.

I purchased a RL black label navy blue linen suit to wear and not sure how I should dress it up/down. The wedding will be outside ceremony and then under a tent for reception (weather permitting). I was thinking of doing just a crisp white shirt, without a tie and with either a white or pastel colored pocket square. Is that too informal?

For the shoes, I'd like to do something like these (either blue or the white-ish color).

Do I wear a belt, if so...what color?

If it helps, I am 28 and am relatively comfortable being a bit on the "edgy" side for dressing.

Thank you!!!

Thanks Thin Man. I checked and they are just the normal spring loaded trees. Still getting my learning on with shoes. Baby steps.

What do we think of this Kiton linen sportcoat? Ebay for $1250, too much I think, but as to the coat itself, would it be good at a lower price? Is this casual only or work-in-the-summer?

Fair enough, would you be able to point me in the direction or slip on or lace up?

Thanks!

Looking at buying my first suite, I am in undergrad and price is a factor. I am open to suggestions, thanks in advance.

I am also looking for advice on where to start buying more casual apparel. I currently wear khakis and polos, oxfords and solid t shirts but I want to shift away from that. I am on a budget as well.
I like a more conservative look (if that makes sense) but I also like the summer colors. I have explored BB, JCrew and RL but I wanted to start wearing something that does not make me a walking billboard either.

Thanks in advance guys.

Any exterior tags on a suit are sewed on loosely and designed to be removed. All three of the options you posted would be fine for suits depending on budget.

As for casual wear, try mail order places like LL Bean or Lands' End if you're having issues finding decent logo free basics.

About a quarter inch above the bottom of your shirt cuff.

For what kiton costs new, that's a more than fair amount. Not really what I would call a steal, but certainly a good price for absolute top end type stuff. As for the coat itself, it's for somebody with chutzpah. As for whether it would work for work or not, that really depends on the office and how well you wear it.

I'm looking for a pair of somewhat affordable slim chinos. size 36x30 or 36x32. preferably 7-8" hem width, and a low rise. Looking to spend under $70.

Suggestions please! I've done a load of searching, no luck.

Would Rugby chinos be what i'm looking for?
