Edit. Below is my response to Marcell's announcement. Here is the thread in question. It is a complaint about customer service. The customer eventually went to arbitration after months of unfruitful correspondence, and there was a settlement in his favor: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=171190 I'm closing this thread, and moving it to general, since there is no more to be discussed As a policy, we do not remove negative customer reviews at the request of a vendor unless some factual misrepresentation has been made. This goes for affiliate as well as non-affiliate vendors. The sole exceptions are the affiliate threads, which "belong" the the affiliates. I told Marcell that if he wished to have the review removed, he should send evidence that the events in the original post were misrepresented. In our email exchange, Marcell never dispute that the facts were accurately represented. We would make the same decision re. the recent threads about some very late pants. We regret that this has resulted in Marcell deciding to no longer post on the forum. He and his company have received a lot of positive publicity by posting on the forum (Styleforum is one of very few forums that allow unpaid, commercial links in signatures). It is highly unlikely that his company would otherwise have gained the international reputation it enjoys without Styleforum. We regret that Marcell would require that we censor private members from posting negative reviews as a prerequisite for him to post on the forum. We have taken no punitive steps against Marcell (for example, he continues to benefit from the links to his website from his signature fire), and he is free to resume posting on the forum at any time. If Marcell and Koronya were ever trolled, he never reported these posts. Happy 4th of July. Fok. ________________________________________________________________________________ First of all: thanks! Thanks for everyone who was supportive, helping me in this forum, talk about my product and giving feedback about it. Today I decided to leave this forum. There are plenty reasons for this, but only one to mention and talk about: I can't bear anymore forum-trolls, being their target. A bit more than a year ago my reputation was seriously damaged by a forum member, who obviously only joined to the forum to ruin down my reputation - or at least he never posted anything, anymore. Anyway: those were hard times, and now it became even harder, when I asked an administrator to remove that thread. He said I am a business "entity" so it is OK to ***** my name. I think it is not. Bespoke should be gentlemen's business, and I belive a forum without proper moderation is not the right place for gentlemen, so I leave. After a lot of hesitation today I accepted an offer from a well reputed university to teach footwear design and technology, so I am not taking any new orders - only from existing customers. Here is the thread in question. It is a complaint about customer service. The customer eventually went to arbitration after months of unfruitful correspondence, and there was a settlement in his favor: http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=171190

This is me. A simple shoemaker from Hungary. I worked hard every day with my dirty hands and ancient tools to fulfill orders, and yes, sometimes I made mistakes and even I delayed with them… but I always do my bests to keep my customers satisfied. Marcell Mrsan Master Shoemaker Koronya Handmade Shoes and Boots ps. So funny guys… Do you also have a real name?

Sorry for any troubles Marcel- "Style" forum and "gentleman's behavior" seldom have gone hand in hand here.

I am most dismayed, however, to hear that you'll not be taking new orders for shoes (other than existing customers). The world needs more artisans of your caliber, not fewer.

I've never had the chance to experience your shoes first-hand (first-foot?), but I've always admired your work. Good luck with whatever you will be doing, I'm sure you'll succeed. Oh, and you'll be back.

Based on the testimony of one of your former students, I agree. Be nice, but not too nice!

Well I am not surprised Marcell. First congratulation on your position and I hope everything works out well. Second I am glad now that I managed to place my order this spring.

As IT person I have never understood behavior of administrators on this forum. Some of the issues on this forum a really easy to solve such as dealing with trolls and so on. I do not understand why admins do not put limits on how many posts new users can post per day or week. Setting up a rule to limit new users to one post per day, five per week for the first few weeks would help with spam and also with a load of idiotic threads such "HELP I walked on the streets today and my soles are scratched now",

Majority of the more serious user with the vast amount of the knowledge have reduced the participation on this forum or left altogether so I am not surprised seeing you leaving too. Good luck and I am looking forward meeting you again. Good luck with everything.
