Yep, also not really that hard. Best chopsticks are the wooden ones you snap in half and need to rub the splinters off. Easy eating.

Someone tried to tell me that you're not supposed to rub the splinters off because the rough surfaces make it easier for the chopsticks to grab the food.

I'm skeptical.

You're not supposed to rub them together ever.

it helps but it works fine without the splinters anyway so may as well make it more comfortable for your hands

at least not in front of anyone; I just do it under the table like every other Asian person does

I'm always more concerned about mouth splinters.

Alright I unsubscribed from ALL emails from gilt a reallll long time ago, but I've gone to the site a handful of times in the past few weeks, and each time after doing that the next day I get an email from them with the day's sales, but only that once. Interesting strategy

That's not the reason. Rubbing chopsticks together is considered bad table manner.

Quick tip for y'all. If you see wedding dresses lying around your tailor's shop, GTFO and find another tailor. I have a jacket that's been chilling at the shop for a month and is still not done because the tailor's primary business is bridal and I was too dim to realize this would happen. blargh
