Why are you so desperate to put oil on your new boots?

My old boots actually; I have the brown W+H collab and they're getting kind of dry.

I like the look of the W+H ones better when they are abused.

They had to order more materials for the stacked leather heels (mine will be ready to pick up at the end of the week). How are they shipping?

Me too.

I've never used it but Lexol makes a non-darkening leather conditioner you could try. Saphir Renovateur darkens slightly and leaves a matte finish which would suit these boots. Venetian Cream darkens somewhat, penetrates well and gives a shinier finish than Saphir. Obenauf's and Sno-Seal darken the finish a lot and attract dust but are the best waterproofers.

Abusing boots is fine. Failing to keep the leather conditioned or oiled is not. In the long term you will regret it and shorten the life of your boots.

Same thing goes for you guys who seem to dislike using shoetrees. These are expensive boots, give them a little TLC and they will last a lifetime.

GEEBUS still don't have my boots. Called Dayton and they said they are still being finished. Could have sworn I ordered them on the 2nd day when their sale started.

Yes conditioning is a must for these boots. Was going to forgo on the shoe tree since I wanted to distress them a bit by wearing them.

Does this apply to the nubuck boots?

Word, I was planning on just waterproofing but some responses made it sound like you should oil them too. I'm assuming those were directed toward anyone with the oil tanned leather boots?

You don't oil nubuck unless you're trying to dub them. Best you can do for nubuck is to spray them with a suede/nubuck protectant and brush them when soiled.

If you dub them it will darken em and **** up that nice texture/feel. Don't do it.
