Apropos, 43 is equivalent to a UK9. IMO chukkas stretch more than any other shoe, (although Slewfoot says his Vass chukkas haven't stretched a few posts back) so I would go 43 not 43.5

I never said they are more versatile, but, for me, I prefer less adorned open-laced shoes and the reduced number of eyelets is in keeping with that preference. Now that I think about it, I own only two- and three-eyelet bluchers/derbys.

Any comment on how the P2 fits compared with the F? I would imagine there would be less elongation, and more width in the same size.

I don't think they're wider. If they are it's not by much. If you look at the P2 tree it's just a bit fatter overall - a slightly higher and more rounded toe box. I really like the P2: it's not clunky, and although it's not as exciting as the F or the U, it has a nice balance, which is very hard to achieve and seems to take shoemakers years to perfect. Bit like the EG 202 in its smooth roundedness. the other distinguishing features are the unbevelled waist and the heel: it's broader and flatter (lower) than the F last. I think the Norweger, for example, looks better in the P2 than the F.
