Shoe Damage Report & Shoe P0rn Central - Part II

Here are a few of my recent suede acquisitions. It's been a suedesplosion!

Picked these up at Paul Stuart in NYC at a pretty good discount. Made by Grenson for PS I believe.



The next 2 I got at Wilkes Bashford at 1/2 off.

Navy suede by Barrett. Will be great with white pants and a navy linen SC.


The undyed stitching contrasts really well with the navy, and the suede wrap on the horse bit keeps it from looking too gaudy - though they are certainly flamboyant . Blake.




Finally a Gravati loafer in chocolate suede. Blake stitched - construction seems quite good actually.

The 12319 last does look nicer than the 11028 used on Herring's version. How's the sizing for that last? UK size + 1 = US size or is it only ½ size conversion?

US size is UK +1.
9.5F UK = 10.5D US

When Riccardo Bestetti was in Amsterdam last time for a trunkshow I gave my brother a pair of bespoke shoes for his birthday. The fitting was supposed to be yesterday. But we couldn't meet Riccardo at the show. So he was on his way to my house. Like a good Italian he called me when he was 40 minutes late. The person who was driving him had a flat tire. They were waiting at a petrol station nearby. So... We just had my brothers fitting right there:

I also ordered a stingray wholecut. The piping, lining, laces, sole and shoetrees all will be made in a very deep purple colour. Riccardo calls it 'royal purple' and it's pretty close to black. So it won't really standout, just give it something that you really have to look at twice before you notice it. These probably won't be ready until september/october unfortunately.

Way to go... can't wait to see ...luuurrvv stingray!

Many thanks, all. Hey, I DO appreciate all the beauties that get posted on this thread! Definitely works of art. I've been trying to find some kind of balance between sleek/ aesthetic & that extra "WTF???" I need to have.

Luckily Meister turned me onto the old-school spades, among other things vintage.

But, just so you know no one hijacked my account...
