The shred on its own is decent but people looking for Johnny's tone forget that it has some help from the SD1. Frankly, the bluesbreaker sounded like muddled **** when I tried it. I've tried the Guv but it's been so long that I don't remember much. I'm always skeptical about trying out pedals on tube amps because they end up sounding completely different on a solid state.

That's the only reason why I picked it up to begin with. It was after playing around with it that I realized how versatile it was. I'd still like to get a tube pedal at some point, though.
I thought Kevin Shields didn't actually have a Shred? I've looked at forums where people claim he never used one.
