Nope. Really cool stuff you got there. Though for the record, I like my Guv'nor (recently acquired) much more than I ever liked the Shredmaster - even more than the Bluesbreaker, which was my number-one distortion box for a time!

The shred on its own is decent but people looking for Johnny's tone forget that it has some help from the SD1. Frankly, the bluesbreaker sounded like muddled **** when I tried it. I've tried the Guv but it's been so long that I don't remember much. I'm always skeptical about trying out pedals on tube amps because they end up sounding completely different on a solid state.

I'm loving my Jaguar so much that now I really want a 60's Jazzmaster to go along with it. Wish I had the money.

I thought Kevin Shields didn't actually have a Shred? I've looked at forums where people claim he never used one.

I just got a PN-2 because of Shields, actually. Great trem. More usable than my Diamond Trem which I'm going to sell, even though the diamond has tap and a lot more options. It never throbbed enough, wasn't stereo, and cost too much.

What's a good Shields fuzz/dist?

That's the only reason why I picked it up to begin with. It was after playing around with it that I realized how versatile it was. I'd still like to get a tube pedal at some point, though. I've talked to other guitarists about the shred and they all seem really happy with it. I remember talking to the guitarist from Finch about it. He said he used it in his chain basically for noise while feeding in delay. Odd use for it but he used it regularly that way. But honestly, I don't play my gear that much these days. Ever since I got a Firewire Solo and the Amplitube Series (3, Hendrix, Metal, Fender, etc.) as well as TH2, I just stick to playing through my computer. All the effects, amps, mics, etc. I could ever possibly need are there. It's beautiful.

After I fix up my beaten to hell vintage AC30 next year, I may also get a JCM800 and run the two in stereo. They're pretty cheap to pick up in the UK. With the PN-2, the Space which I'm about to get, my Guv'nor (which some people think is what he used, and not a Shred) and my Jag, I'll be in MBV heaven.

The guy who produced my EP also did the live sound for MBV's tours, but I recorded the EP before I listened to MBV so didn't ask him anything. I will next time my band is in the studio.

Just got my Strymon Blue Sky last night and it is awesome. Can't wait for the Timeline to come out.
