I appreciate the experimentation, but this doesn't work for me. The boater and the jacket are a bit too incongruous to my eye. Two ideas: 1) lose the boater and replace with ivy cap; 2) lose the jacket and replace with madras/summer-weight odd coat.

Thanks Lufty...I kind of agree, I think the military tunic inspired coat looked much better buttoned, but they all got lost and I keep forgetting to replace them, Buttoned, and with a less formal shirt i think this may have worked?

I think I see what you're going for. I like the jacket, but I think there's not enough contrast with the trousers, though. I could even go for the boater, but would like it better if you were wearing some dark denim and the boater were the one twist in the outfit. As is, it feels like the fit is going in three directions at once.

Deets on the jacket?

If you've got the shirtcuff issue taken care off, I think you're good. Be careful the tailor doesn't go crazy with the waist suppression. You're right - you only need a tiny adjustment there, if anything.
