Sorry but I'm racist against the Momofuku franchise. Except for Milk Bar.

as far as I know, Milk Bar's "Crack Pie" is the answer to world peace.

But at $45 a pie, most countries needing world peace can't afford it.

i feel like chinatown icecream factory is overrated, but if you go get the almond cookie. they're supposed to have durian occasionally but i've never seen it.

there's a place near the i think brooklyn bridge in the really chinatown part (near project no. 9) called supertaste noodle. it's so friggin good. the noodles are hand pulled and the broth is fantastic.

also chasiubao at sunsaykay (the big yellow sign). it's on canal st, but i forget which intersection. in between mott street and the mcdonalds.

also the truffled egg toast at 'ino is pretty good, but it's not cheap cheap

the truffled guyere mac 'n cheese at Dogmatic is easily the best $3.50 I can think of spending.

Johns is great, cash only. Lombardi's is also good on Prince and Spring (and it was opened by a relative of mine over a hundred years ago). Over the bridge Grimaldi's is fantastic, right under the BB so a nice walk after dinner and ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. Chip Shop is average fried fish and chips, not worth it imo. DiFaras really is a hidden gem, but WAY out there, and you will wait for hours (Dominic does em one pie at a time, and since the hipsters and yuppies found this place its overrun). If you're gonna go that far into Brooklyn, I'd recommend L&B Spumoni Gardens, GREAT Sicilian, Outdoor eating, great Italian American food in the restaurant and super Spumoni. ACtually talking about it made me want some...dinner tonight!

^^^^^ L&B is great! Reminds of my old apartment on Avenue X (not from from 86th street). Worth a visit if you are way out in Brooklyn.
