I picked up these Vass which seem to be quite a cheap alternative to the Arca. Not sure what model name they are but I'd be interested in seeing them in Brown / Ox-Blood:

It's on the "U". Angle might exaggerate the sleekness I think.

You can't really compare them...

I don't know Vass products well enough to give you an informed opinion...

Vass look quite solid and well built a la Eastern European...

That also come up with certasin shortcomings.

this would makes sense in order not to confuse buyers since as noted above aubergine IS french for eggplant.
