If you could live anywhere in the world and make a living there then where would you go,or are you perfectly happy where you are?

I ask as I am planning on finding a way to escape the UK sometime soon with Budapest being my city of choice ( cheap property, stunning architecture, cool people, central to a lot of places in Europe, low crime - awful language however but you can't have it all ) but wondered where you guys would go given the choice...What are the important things to you in a place to live?

Let's hear your opinions!

I lack the money or connects for either, and also the language for the former.

I think I would be safe up there. No one is going to nuke Santa Cruz. And if they did, I wouldn't want to go on living anyway.

If it's safety you want, go for rural Montana or the forests of Michigan's UP.

Maybe Santiago - except for the recurrent natural disasters... love the people and the city is growing crazy fast.

I loved living in Fukuoka, but it definitely wouldn't be for everyone.
