finalyy a clue re: pricing:
Browne emphasizes the panache in even the most conservative elements of American style. Two of the most interesting pieces in the collection, which del Vecchio describes as the company's version of "couture" since the opening price for a suit is $4,000, are an overcoat with a back belt that sits high on the torso and a trench coat.

A little OT - but does anyone know what BB stores will be carrying this line?

There are two BB stores within 15 mins of me.

One is a small store carrying a smaller quantity of stock - shirts, ties, slacks, sport coats, some suits - but is not an outlet store. Probably 'second-tier'.

The other is a full-size two-story store (brand new - built a few months ago), carrying the full line of expensive shoes, full line of shirts, ties, and sportswear, and carries the full line of regular suits and outerwear in addition to the more expensive suits (possibly golden fleece). Most likely a tier-1 store.

Any chance that the bigger store will be getting TB x BB gear, as far as anyone has heard? Or is this a NY/Chicago thing only?

$4k for Black Sheep suit is ridiculous....it's only a thousand cheaper than his own mainline. I thought the Brooks collaboration was to make Browne more financially accessible while giving Brooks high press.

Maybe Browne doesn't want to be "accessible".

I'm convinced that the people running the fashion industry are half nuts.

I have seen the brooks brothers store in Florence and it strikes me as kind of amusing that in Europe we are quite fond of american classic style and that across the pond the american members of sf are applauding rakish neapolitan suits. The Browne style however is already here, slimfitting pants cut short above ankle boots etc. and very very tight fitting blazers are rapidly becoming more common here. The continental style differs maybe in a more nonchalant way from the T. Browne look which does not look like it is very comfortable.

now he'll be inaccessible with 2 different brands.

Maybe he can do a collaboration with Toyota and design a Corolla that costs $80,000

The wheel heights would be really really high and the hood would only cover half the engine.

Thom Browne's clothing, and mens' "fashion", in general, has always been quite puzzling for me.

What I'd like to know is: What is so new, so innovative, to justify the hoopla surrounding a new designer? So Browne is known for his tighter and shorter cuts. For this he gets to charge $$$ and even wins the annual designer award. Where is the actual INNOVATION? Maybe this is applicable to the whole fashion industry in general: tweaking with the old and classic, but generally nothing new.

As an aside, I always find the new announcements about new "designers" in the mens's magazines (GQ, Esquire,..etc) quite amusing. Invariably the purpose/goal of the new designer is to make more "wearable clothing" Funny thing is, it looks all the same, simply with different labels.
