Audio,

If you have time before your visit, check out "Summer in a Glass" by Evan Dawson (Amazon has it). Great read about Finger Lakes winemaking. For reds try Heart and Hands (Cayuga), Ravines (Keuka). For food, if you get down near Watkins Glen stop at the Stonecat Cafe. Also great micro-beer at Roosterfish in Watkins Glen, next to Wildflower Cafe.

As much as I love Austrian riesling, I love Austrian sauvignon blanc even more. I just wish it was easier to find.

Many thx boys. Very much appreciated. I'm getting quite excited. This region like many others is growing in leaps and bounds, gaining confidence, and producing some good reds and wonderful whites. I'll check out your recs and the restaurants. I'll be in search of top class reds.

Cheers, a

Looks like I have not had as much luck as you finding good Austrian SBs. I liked some of the ones I have tried from FX Pichler & Tement. Hear that Polz and Gross make good ones but I have not run a cross those yet at retail. Others you can recommend?

$16 a bottle? Was it a horrible vintage for these guys? That's an incredible price.

Nice!

I am celebrating a great hockey season with a Pride Reserve cab '97. Still has quite a bit of flavor left.
