I'd go with a 48 for a looser fit or a 46 if you want it a little more 'fitted'. Mind you its a f'in sweatshirt so not sure how fitted you really want it...

I'm a ~39/40 chest and the 48 is a tiny bit tight on me but I have a feeling the 50 would have been too big.

Just got my gats from lvr, real nice but 41 fits a bit bigger than I hoped for my tiny feet.

I'd definitely size down. Sleeves are long and the fit is slightly oversized in my opinion.

hey dont knock my oc! I dont recommend their leather shoes but the suede ones are not so bad. Get them on sales.

these look nice, and the suede areas seem indeed to be black rather than navy (as you predicted and contrary to what the stock photos suggest)
do you think they're proportional to your height though? one thing i noticed about darker-colored low-top gats is that they tend to accentuate small feet (not only because they're dark-colored but also because of the distinctive upward-pointing toe shape of low gats) which personally bothers me sometimes. So I wouldn't size down if I don't really have to
