Yes but its not that you can't be bothered to wear them, you are too scared to. Its not like you bought them and left them in the back of your closet

I know I've seen some pics of well worn Darltons with an amazing patina--if anyone has them please post. My favorite pair of shoes (Alden tan calf longwings) have gone through two resoles and have never looked better in my opinion...

Ask her if she thinks that being blindfolded would be exciting for her. Point out that viagra costs about $15/shot, but that wearing the shoes seems to do the trick, plus you can justify buying additional pairs. Point out to her that you'd like more variety in your sex life, and go out and purchase a few different styles, she deserves it. Put them on your feet only after climbing into bed, and remove them if for any reason you need to leave the bed. You can get years of enjoyment out of a pair and they will still have that new look about them.

+1 If your shoes are so precious to you that you can't bear to wear them and ruin their pristine condition, then you can't really afford them. You can afford something when you can afford to use it (and, eventually, to replace it). I understand the timidity that accompanies the breaking in of something pure and beautiful and unspoiled and all that. I get it. But if you can't take the plunge, consider why not. It's usually because you can't actually afford what you just bought, even emotionally.

True speak: Get a rock and scuff in your initials. This will ease you into accepting that the wear is really a representation of your existence.

I think the point the OP is making is that these shoes are a beautiful piece of art, and personally, I'd rather walk on a degenerative painting by Picasso than damage those lovely shoes, the shoes being far more attractive.

a pair of daltons is not worth this type of adoration.

That's true - what do you think does?

personally, if I buy it I'll wear it, after about 10 seconds of mourn for the "newness".

That said, I might get a twinge of nervousness putting on a new set of GGs or EGs, but thats because over $1k for shoes is still out of my comfort zone.
