I'm a fan of hip-hop's senior circuit, but passed on going the past two years. I like their new focus on albums. Maybe it's the geet in me , but I realllly love seeing an artist perform an album in its entirety a la Day 1 of the Pitchfork Festival.

This year looks pretty amazing:

Lauren Hill performing Miseducation
Nas performing Illmatic
Rae & Ghost doing Cuban Link
Gza doing Liquid Swords (which I saw at Pitchfork 07 and is ******* phenomenal)
Mobb Deep doing The Infamous
Mos Def and Kweli doing BlackStar

Anybody going?

Not going, but I saw this show in a small club in 08. It was pretty amazing.

Yeah, it's going to be in Los Angeles, San Fran, New York and then Boston. I've never been to any concert (not sure I'd enjoy it with so many other people around me yelling and acting crazy) but looks like a great lineup for anyone who loves hip hop...

Lauren Hill is not pregnant with her 6th child, and of course, still crazy as ****. I'd put the odds of her showing up for any of the dates at 50/50.

I'd say there is a 5% chance anyone gets to hear her singing at any of these venues.

Not sure why, but the title of the OP (I know it's the tour name) brought back memories of LL killing it on American Bandstand. I think he was the first rapper on there. I was there for his MTV "Unplugged", it was so bananas.

would love to see erykah bady do baduizm. i saw her in Australia recently and she was great but the madlib style production on her last couple of albums doesnt work as well live - the sound wasnt great

baduizm would be perfect live, also nas, blackstar, common, blackstar, raekwon/GFK etc

holy moley

edit: listening to souls of mischief and i feel like im 13 again
