What was Your Biggest Raise?

I am curious to hear what range people here experience (no ****).
So if you have ever caught a promotion within a company or perhaps jumped ship for greener pastures in the same industry.... what was the % increase in your base salary like? If you jumped ship was it within a similar region (cost of living)?

When I got an offer to come back to the law firm where I was a summer associate, the starting salary was $100,000. By the time I finished my third year of law school, the starting salary went up to $125,000. In my first year, the firm had to readjust salaries because of some bumps given by competitors, and I was bumped up to $145,000. All within the first year.

I jumped 50% in my last switch. In retrospect I probably could have gotten 100%.

So on a related note, I am guessing you all never disclosed what you were making previous to your jumps. Or did the offer makers not care and simply offer a market driven wage rate?

I went from $7.50 ph to $13ph (or something similar) once.

in 2001 I was earning a salary (X) in israel after several year working my way up in my career. when I moved to the states, I took a cut of almost 60% in total compensation, in order to make the move. it took me about 2.5 years to get a job that brought me back to my previous compensation - so I went from X to 0.6X back to X. then, over the past 5 years, I have gone to 1.7X.

MY new gig had a set starting salary so it subject never came up.

Not terribly much:

11% after working a little under 1 year -- 10% when switching jobs.

I've been working at the new job for ~9 months and asked for a raise. I didn't get an immediate answer, but was told that there were formal yearly compensation evaluations. Doesn't look like a good sign, but I think I have a decent argument for a raise of 10% or greater.
