I know a lot of people on this board seem to swear by Allen Edmonds, A Testoni, and Alden. Sadly these shoes are out of my price range. I'm looking for something in the $150-200 range. What's the best value in that range in terms of style and quality? Better places to buy shoes than Zappos? I have an odd size, 13B. Thanks.

Scour Buy/Sell or Ebay for used Allen Edmonds, Alden, or C&J. If it has to be new, maybe wait for Allen Edmonds on Sale from a B&M retail store like Nordstroms or an Allen Edmonds store or something.

Allen Edmonds seconds through the factory outlet are in your price range. You can give them a call or email them for a list of seconds/discontinued shoes in your size.

or Allen Edmonds thirds....my god you could get like ten pairs for $200.

As a 14AA, I feel your pain. Wait for Nordstrom to run a sale and then snap up some Park Aves (or whatever) for $229. I promise it is worth stretching your budget by the price of a decent dinner to get shoes that fit properly and will hold up down the road.

I've bought new AE on sale for $220. Close enough? If not, there are other options. You don't really need to buy used. Opinions vary, but I can't imagine anyone here really wants to buy shoes that have been broken in on another dude's feet.

Nordstrom Rack. You're bound to find something there, it doesn't hurt to check.

For new shoes: Allen Edmonds through the factory store or at an outlet.

Would I be best served wearing this suit with brown or black shoes? I plan on buying both.

^ both brown and black will work fine. As a general rule, black more conservative, brown more interesting.

You can do both black and brown with this suit.
