White or light blue shirts with a suit. I don't own any other colors or any with patterns for wearing with suits. And, I always wear a solid white linen pocket square, no colors or patterns ever.

Outerwear made from extremely heavy horsehide. I like to see their faces as they buckle under the weight.

I'd rather say no...it maybe tends to be something that you are known for since you put an emphasis on it/like a lot but something that is also not commonly emphasized to such an extent in your social, cultural etc. environment. Yet, it must also be somehow restricted by social norm: 'the guy with the 70s clothes' is too widely defined; rather, some average from that you deviate in only a few points would need to be supposed...

Perhaps an unnoticeable signature item is analogous to an unreadable signature. Lord knows there are plenty of those.

I'll leave the Spyderco at home but will usually pack the SAK in the check in bag. I've donated plenty of pocket knives and LM micras to the TSA though.

That answers that question. You obviously don't travel much by air if you are checking bags.

Maybe there's something I'm not getting here, but this is 2011. What's the point of carrying a pocket knife? Keeping one in your car, sure, maybe. But carrying one? Explain the daily use case to me.
