- IMO that is like using a skinny mirror. Just get a waist high level surface & walk 10 paces back.

You have more shoes than I figured; nice selection indeed.

FWIW, I think it really suits you compared to the overly tapered look for a few years ago.

Shoe/trouser contrast is delicious.

I really don't. Whether it looks better in a photo or not isn't the issue; the point is that extreme low angle simply cannot be representative of what the outfit looks like to others IRL.

Very nice indeed. Good colours and combination.

The colour is not growing on me. Is it a richer more "olive-y" green IRL, perhaps?

This is true, but you have to add personal preference on top. I'm very lukewarm on them on almost any suit. That's not to say there aren't good-looking suits with patch-pockets; we've seen some on this board over the years. But I just don't really like them with suits. In general I would definitely agree that they look best only on certain fabrics, but just would add an extra additional preference that this should be combined with the garment being an odd jacket where the casual informality of the patch seems natural and comfortable to look at.

Thanks, fellas. My approach to patch pockets on suits is that I like them if the suit fabric allows the coat to be worn as an odd jacket (linen, blends, textured fabrics). I don't think they work as well with "slicker" suiting fabrics.

^I love your winter wardrobe. IIRC that coat is part of a suit?

To each his own. It is an olive-y/military green. It has a nice sheen in the sunlight, but I can understand if the color is not for all.

Yesterday. Bad self shots. Lots of comments from random people on the streets, even though this looked better in my mind's eye. No one here will like the shoes.

They're at a point where I am going to have to resole them soon - I've walked almost all the way through them. Would prefer to replace with a proper pair o' specs, but that's not in the cards for now.

What to do, what to do...
