The original 5-zip looks more simple (cleaner) and better. This new version has an over-accentuated detail that goes all the way to the bottom and you really can't even see the zippers, just looks like two arrows pointing to your face. The new also doesn't have a paneled back and tabbed cuffs (which is extra long too), just minor details but it does make some difference. And basing on the pics alone, for some reason the 5-zip just looks more rugged.

melonade if 900 bucks is a ton of money for you, don't buy that leather - the leather is kind of cheap...(and god, is that roden model horribly styled in that pic) otoh, it would be a fun piece to have to mess around with, but not really a staple at all... and fwiw - i had that green bomber with the weird lycra or whatever panels from last ss. it was pretty awesome, but 44 and 46 both fit weird so i returned it...rock that ****
