you seem a bit flustered and offended by my honest question.

How about we put our egos aside and answer the question instead of making this a pissing match?

what is this i dont even.

not sure if troll.

(in case your not a troll... adding buttons to a stiff spread collar shirt would be like wearing a belt and suspenders at the same time, unnecessary. not to mention the buttons would have a weird kinda off balance placement.)

I've seen it done on this forum actually, in the folded shirt Appreciation thread. He called it an italian buttondown or something like that, it was basically a wide spread button down collar. I never saw how it looked on him though so I can't comment on how well it would work or how it looks. And I dont remember the collar being all that stiff, hope this helps!

I think Cary Grant had some button-down spread collar shirts that have double cuffs. But unless you are Cary Grant that might be hard to pull off.

do you want to have a custom shirt made with a wide spread button down?
sure i have made them before.

can you turn a rtw shirt into a button down?
you could add button holes and the buttons, but the lining inside the collar will probably be
to heavy and thick to have any sort of roll

You can wear a spread collar shirt when you go and purchase a button down shirt!

Carl has done this for me on a sportshirt with an unlined collar, so that the points stopped flying away. I'd second the point that a lined collar would probably look wrong with the addition of buttons.

No, but you can buy one. Then you will have two shirts.
