Using today's exchange rates, I believe mine was about $3.8k. Used Mk XV's can be had for a good deal less, IIRC. For comparrison, a new Mk XVI is about $4.4k here.

Just got this today, my first non-military watch, still peasant status. Vintage Hamilton automatic on a teju lizard grain band on my tiny wrist.

$3.8K? Wow, I'm pretty certain the Mark XV sold for less than that new in the US. Used, they (non-Spitfire dial, nicer imo) are around $4K now in shops, and $2,600-$3,000 used with papers, etc. on forums/eBay.

Here, the Mark XVI is around $3K new.

The Mark XV is a far more beautiful watch imo. I should never have sold mine.

Picked this out of the box today: SM300 on braided perlon Nato. Seamasters never looked better.

I am in fact wearing the same model today - a 165.024 from 1967 on a "MoD grey" NATO. But this one bears more scars, aging and patina than yours...

Nonserviam, you have an enviable collection.

I've never seen a NATO strap like that before -- looks cool.

I've got my eye on one myself (P-series). Does anybody know if all P-series comes with the solid end link

Yes, SEL was installed from late A-series onwards.

After a long phase of Panerai and JLC, I've been wearing a fair bit of Rolex vintage or transitional models, recently:
