Thanks David, it's on the 82 last F width. These will look great on the 888 last too. I could have gone down half size. I have been wanting these for a long time. It didn't help EG took 10 months to deliver these.

I guess it turned out that way due to the word last. Shoe jokes can be anywhere!

Glad they finally arrived! The 82 looks quite nice on F width. The same last in D width looks quite odd to my eye.

Most loafers look old man-ish due to their cut and last shape. U and F last won't leave you feeling like that.

The guys who have U last loafers told me they downsized a half size for them to fit well (FYI these guys upsized a half size for their U last oxfords. For example, someone might wear F last 42.5, have U last oxfords in 43, and fit well in U last 42.5 loafers).

For F last, I use the same size for oxfords and loafers (I tried downsizing a half size but it did not work). Hope that helps.

This is pretty much my tailored, small 'dress' shoe rotation. I also have 2-3 more boots and one more pair of balmorals (currently on hiatus), but this is pretty much what I wear these days to work and when I am out on weekends. I have a loafer coming (Alden for BB LHS in shell, which hopefully fits). It also looks like I kind of need a black shoe of some sort, but I would almost never wear it, so it need not be anything special.

I leave my Alden #8s in direct sunlight until the overdye burns off. There are splotches and streaks underneath, but I prefer the so-called flaws to the eggplant dye. Cigar, ravello and whiskey shells are freer of the discoloration. After years of wear they all end up looking quite similar to each other.

would love to see pics you have of your old shell in these colors

+1 on the black - for someone with your build mebe something really sleek, beveled and narrow waisted - a single sole F bal or a City II or a G&G Oxford or Derwent
