I have the same tie, and had issues getting a good knot on it. Yours looks pretty good, so I guess it's operator error ...
Where is this picture taken? Love that wall and space.

Ha! I also like my Drake's and Borrelli ties. But, I have a soft spot for the Pantas.

In my experience, the Pantas are a little wider through the middle and make a taller knot. I've found I have to wrap it a little looser then shimmy the whole thing up with a pinch. I was rushing this morning. Ed could probably do a lesson on how to tie the official Panta knot.

That's my office. It's an old brick carriage house.

That is, they're somewhat self-fulfilling through custom and usage. Having said that, one of the historic associations of purple is of course with imperial power and distance, so fitting for a promotion, especially in conjunction with the formality of a peak lapel suit. This could be said to be partially countered by the playful echoing on the colour in the socks, clearly an informal touch. Calming? Perhaps in a paler, more lavender shade?

I appreciate this very much. There was a lot of crying, even if I wore pajamas I dont think it would have mattered

Congrats on the promotion...can you use this as an excuse to get even MORE businesswear?

Yep, 2/3 of the full rig - too hot for the whole thing. When is there an excuse NOT to get more clothes?!

I like the hiked up trouser look, but it's probably b.c. I'm an old man I guess.

I kind of like it, too, for some reason -- although when I looked at the pic before reading the caption it did catch my eye as looking really hiked up.

SPOO WITH A WRINKLY TROUSER LINE ALERT!!!!

Only reason I mention it is because most of your other pents have the cleanest lines I've ever seen. Get those bitches cuffed up!
Also.. should've advertised the RLPL purple sportcoat with that tie when you broke the news. Talk about calming.
