I may be alone here, but I liked Carolla's show a lot more in the first season, when it was less of a radio show.

I never followed him on Loveline or on the radio, so all of his anecdotes and stories are/were fresh to me, and didn't really see a difference from his early days to now. His one-on-one with guests, depending on who it is, is usually pretty solid; e.g. Sammy Hagar most recently. I am just happy Teresa Strasser is gone.

Carolla's recent appearance on Joe Rogan's podcast was one of the best podcasts I've listened to.

Agreed. His sidekicks suck balls. Luckily he's enough of a windbag to usually drown them out anyway.

Always and only:

Adam Carolla
Bill Simmons

The change in format and addition of the sidekicks is that dropped it from my "always" list.

I listen to a lot of NPR podcasts while I'm working on the house. Mostly:
To the Best of Our Knowledge
This American Life
Radio Lab (great for popular science)
Planet Money
All Songs Considered (best way to hear new music, IMO)
Car Talk

According to today's episode, Carolla gave up a multi-year multi-million dollar radio gig to stick with the podcast.

A lot of friends of mine love Dan Savage the relationship advice guy. Based on things they tell me he seems really on point. I personally do not have the patience for podcasts.

I don't understand why he couldn't do both. Leo Laporte does a crazy amount of podcasts and still does his radio show. Sure it's weekends only for Leo's radio gig, but I find it hard to believe Carolla couldn't squeeze in time for a few podcasts each week.
