C&J Hallam shoes are clunky?

I love my new C&J Hallam dress shoes, the toe is pointed and the front part of the shoe is sleek, it looks great. However the waist of the shoe and the heel it looks a bit clunky. Am I right?

I might consider a less clunky shoe in the future, was thinking of a pair of G&G dress shoes those look a bit more sleek, what do you think of those dress shoes? Or will I have to go bespoke to get what I want (a more fitted dress shoe, especially near the waist and heel)?

Haa, I have thought this myself. The shoe isnt clunky but rather the transition from a narrow pointy toe to a normal sized heel gives it that bottom heavy look. I am reminded of a women with no **** and just an okay ass.

Maybe you're too young to start threads

You're spoiled by looking at G&G and new AS. Wear the Hallam and be happy.

Wouldn't say they are clunky. Look at some American makes and think again. Unfair to compare C&J vs G&G. The price points serve two different clientele. G&Gs are about double C&Js prices.

No, they're not clunky, they still have a sleek look, but I've found the 348 last (and many other C&J lasts) have a more volume around the instep than other brands. This may or may not work for the shape of your foot. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't.

I've come to the conclusion that it's best to find a last that fits really well, then decide if it's got the look you want. Rather than the other way around.

The solution is pretty simple, go higher end or try AE for 2 months then go back to the Hallam with new found appreciation.

Classic and a bit soporific...
