I've been wearing them around the house and they're perfect but I've got a pair of PTBs in the same size so I knew what I was getting into.

LOL ... really did you miss all threads complaing about the questionable construction of Alden's lately. This is just plain absurd.

people just love to whine man. I've held lobbs, EG, every notable brand and very few compare construction and quality wise. some brands are more sleek or whatever but i ******* love how these are clunky

One can love Alden and still question their construction. I just had to retrieve my LS Ultimate Jumpers from the local cobbler because the stitching came undone after being worn twice. I love Aldens and I look forward to getting my next pair, but I am concerned about their construction. I almost bought a pair of cigar cap toe boots at the DC Alden store but didn't because they didn't match. The boots never should have made it out of the factory.

The Alden cordovan boots I have look and feel great, but I am going to take a close look at the next pair I buy to avoid imperfections.

What beauties! Alden seems to have improved the hue of cigar shell cordovan --- those don't look green/olive at all, but rather deep and rich dark brown. Like a rich, dark roux (that's gumbo roux for all you non-cooks).

These are pre-owned, so they may not have started that way.

I used the flash because the lighting is poor but they are just the way you describe, with a bit of red as well. The color is really deep.

eh, i wouldn't even call them that. they still smelled brand new and there were basically no marks on the soles. he wore them about 5 times, not enough to change the color.
