IMO that's a little bit too much man-thigh, but if you're comfortable in them then go for it.

You have to be damned comfortable in them. Any insecurities will show and that's no good. My legs are too disproportionally pale for shorts

I worn "short shorts" two years ago and I don't think I would do it again. Not my style anymore. "What was I thinking?".

I think the perfect length for me is BoO shorts. This is from Uniqlo seerucker shorts from 09. They re-release them every season. used to be $20, now $30.

i have some loose pleated taper pants. Those cotton/linen pants are the best.
