Actually, I wouldn't maybe recommend valmour's website if you're ordering just one item, if I remember correctly the shipping costs are pretty harsh. Having said that, they do have great customer service and I've gotten stuff from them in group orders. This french ebay seller seems to have alot of the products at decent prices and might be an option (you need to log in thru the french ebay when placing an order): http://myworld.ebay.fr/briac05/ Oh, and the Saphir products themselves are fantastic. I never use anything else for my Trickers.

Mixing waxes or alternating waxes during polishing is fine, the shoes get subtle highlights when they age. Corthay made some wax mixes for me to go with my custom patinas, other patina specialists can do the same.

BTW is there a Trickers resurgence, for once SW&D is late to the party as MC has been into these for a while. I check retricker from time to time and never found anything in my size.

yeah i'm not opposed to having a heterogeneous patina. I do think i'll get the dark green saphir cream and wax to begin with, because that's the tone that i'm after, but later i might experiment with some burnishing or something.

For me it was the fact that i could custom order a pair, without going full bespoke and paying the corresponding cost.

I had in my head an idea of what i wanted, with the chocolate suede quarters. Pretty happy with how it turned out.

I agree, even being French and being delivered in France I wouldn't buy one product at the time at Valmour and try to group items and orders with friends.

I you make an homogenized mix and store it in a container it could be OK but if you try to find the same color every time you service your shoes I'd rather buy the right color (or close) right away! Alternating is the best idea it creates a very nice patina and it's great to blend colors. You just need top notch supplies and a lot of time and patience to make it right.

yeah retricker seems to go in batches of the same size, nothing for me for around a year then 2 pairs of stows came up on consecutive days.

^ I think their eBay shop gets more "stock" when funny things happen to some of the batches made for overseas retail.

Got my espresso Stow from David a couple days back - very happy, and the leather defect was quite easily fixed.

Thanks, guys. The boots are so damn nice, it's true and they are great with chinos and denim, but since I don't get down with rolls too much and most of my bottoms are very slim fitting, I didn't think they suited me too well. But the new owner, I can see doing them justice

This is exactly my thoughts for my particular wardrobe. GetSmart's look is perfect for these, if I could match that level of style, that's how I would wear them.

Yep - only a tad disappointed. We've seen a pretty similar makeup already from my-wardrobe.com. Where are all the Dainite soles? It's all either Vibram, commando or... crepe, these days. Anyhoo.... guess I still save up for a MTO from Shoe Healer.

A style like the Navy Tres Bien's Bourton have been in the London Trickers store for a while - was expecting more.

Think Bureau/Present have done the nicest co-labs.

I talked to Richard from Shoehealer and he agrees to do 6 Tricker's MTO for August delivery and 12 for September delivery. I'm looking for people with interest in getting the group MTO to PM me. The design I have in mind is the Tricker's Eaton in Coffee burnished or Burgundy burnished calf with all brass eyelets and commando sole / double leather sole. For each design, we need to have 6 persons participating, we can have 6/12//18 people with same design. I'll follow up with him with more details. The price for this MTO is regular pricing, no additional fees (~GBP 325 with VAT incl and deduct VAT for non-EU/UK). Let me know if I need to put this on separate thread.
