It's kinda complicated since there's really 2 different things that are recognized. Jewish, the religion, and Jewish the race. Either are correct, but neither is as descriptive as I'd like given the circumstances.

Mind you, any race is just an arbitrary stopping point on a long continuum and defies unassailable definition. (Sorry about how pedantic that sounded. It really was the best way I could think of to describe it.)
