Those are nice, when should we expect them, you'll have some more of my money then.

Agreed. Likely from the same mills. From what I hear, Drakes, Marinella and Hober often overlap in that regard (not their actual buy for a certain season; the sources/buyers are smarter than that. They may even arrange for exclusivity).

I'd wager they work some things out, too. Drakes and Marinella always have the best designs out of most tie makers, at least in my opinion. Always great, classic patterns and rarely too flashy and what not. Awesome stuff.

Yeah, they do use some of the same cloth sources. But there's still a very different hand to the ties. Drake's does a somewhat thick, firmer tie with a nice substantial interlining. Marinella does something more standard I find. What Ed does is a very lovely soft hand to his ties -- wispy and ethereal almost.

It would not quite do to just call panta ties out-of-season and cheap Marinellas. The aesthetic is somehow different in a subtle but distinct manner.

Ed - are you going to cut these straight or at 45 degrees? To me, it always makes a big difference with neats between a somewhat attractive tie and a really attractive tie.

I have been retired for three years and have decided to go back to work. I'm going to be starting a new job around the middle of May. I hope this answer satisfies you. Oh, and I can see the future.

Yes, I much prefer when the patterns are diagonal rather than horizontal and vertical. I actually asked Mina to have the silk rotated when I picked a pattern because to me it makes all the difference.
