Yes, sleeve is open/****/whatever. Nordstrom tailoring - generally acceptable or no? I do not have a regular "Guy" yet, still shopping around. Do have a Nordstrom close by.

I know the answer to this is going to varry, but what's a reasonable amount to pay for a tailor to shorten sleeves on a dress shirt? Not shortening from the shoulder, but from the cuff. Is $20 per sleeve fair?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am thinking of buying a used pair of shell cordovans (college kid without a lot of money) but I was wondering how much it would cost to get them resoled on the heel and bottom of shoe (sorry if I used the wrong term) but I am trying to decide if it would be cost efficient to do so, as I've seen some impressive restoration pics on the site...I'd be willing to put in work to clean the uppers...

Thanks!

Seems steep, I would say it should be more like $5 to just move the cuff up a little, and 10 ish if you need to move the placket also.

Why, they're for loafing of course, in style! Brown suede shoes, and tasseled loafers especially, are the epitome of British casual elegance, being a true classic--and forever popular--on this side of the Atlantic in the North-East especially--i.e., the Maritimes and New England. Interestingly, America's Alden claims to have invented the tassel loafer, based on EU versions [loafers trace to weejuns (Norwegian mocs), with another version being made for a British Duke, hence their association with the landed gentry, country-clubs, and prep schools]. Best paired with chinos, etc., they are and remain a very smart alternative to the boat shoe. EDIT: lol @ Flartchy (thank you for the laugh

Question about shoe sizing...

I have a pair of AE Fifth Avenues, purchased from Amazon based on the size I wear in Park Avenues. I seem to be a standard 11D size, and I bought the same size for my AEs.

The Fifth Ave. shoes are developing a crease on the outer side (see pictures). Is this a symptom of shoes that are too wide? I had initially worried, given the last's reputation as being long and narrow, that I may have purchased shoes that were too narrow. However, they are comfortable, and I don't feel an undue amount of wiggle in the shoes when I walk. The more I look at them, the more it appears they are too wide, but I have a hard time believing that. I may just have to suck it up, but curious to hear other opinions. Not much I can do about these now, but I would like to have this figured out for future purchases.

Edit - my Park Avenues have developed this ever so slightly, although it is only when I step down on my heel that it become apparent. Standing straight, I have no problems with those shoes. These demonstrate the crease even when standing flat on my feet. The crease does seem to have developed in a spot where the shoe flexes when I come down on my heal while walking.

I bought some crepe soled chukka/desert boots from Brooks Brothers, wore them once, but they dont fit (as I found out). If I ship them back to return them, will Brooks honor it? (These aren't leather soles so the wear isn't obvious, and the brooks site doesn't explicitly say what condition they have to be in).

Mine charges about $15, but that's only for doing the cuff. It's less if I'm tapering the body and sleeve anyway, then it's like $10.

Hey if I had a shirt made and the collar was fully fused prior to me knowing..can he undo it..like take away the hardness of the collar?

Also, can collar height be adjusted even after the shirt has already been made?
