Alden loafers (both tassel and LHS) are among their best offerings. They should get more love here.

Here's a link to a pair of Tom Park's #8 nst's and how they have aged. I know that over the course of reading this forum I've seen examples of the sun fading #8 shoes. I didn't find the thread I was looking for. As I recall, one of the shoes was decidedly lighter than the other and the person put the darker shoe in the sun and had success in getting the color of the two shoes to be more closely matched. http://www.leathersoulhawaii.com/?s=aging+color+8 Edit: found it. It's on Nick Horween's blog. Here's the link. http://horween.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/brownout/

I like the darker color of #8, and I want to preserve the dark aspect of it as it gets wear over the years... in fact, I've decided to use the occasional coat of black polish on my #8 longwings...

My #8 care regimen is
1) Brush with horsehair / buff with cloth regularly
2) 1 thin Alden paste wax every two/three weeks
4) A Saphir treatment, a coat of Alden paste wax and coat of black wax every couple of months

These are on my longwings. Once a acquire pair of #8 boots or something, I'm guessing the care will be a bit more sporadic

whats everyone's opinion on the Context+ Alden #8 tankers?

Can anyone tell the difference between them and the Leathersoul NST cordovan tankers?
they look pretty much the same other than the extra leather tab that the context boots have.

Also, how is Context normally with their delivery times? Any chance they ship early? I'd like to order this boot or something like it in #8, but I would need it for October...

You could give Citishoes a call, they have these listed on their site.

The patina of my Indy's has changed after significant exposure- see here compared to brand new #8:
