Picked up a Finlaggan Old Reserve. Seems a little sweeter and lighter in the finish than Laphroig 12. Anyone guesses to who currently makes Finlaggan? I've heard it's a young Lagavulin, Caol Ila, Ardberg, or Laphroig.

Picked up Laphroaig and Ardbeg 10s today. Haven't had Laphroaig in ages.

Damn Atlanta liquor racket jacks up the prices on anything alcoholic you buy here.

MI may as well be Canada. Laph10 that these guys here pay $30 or even $40 is $49.99 in MI.

Pricing really is all over the place depending what part of the country you're in. I do notice that California consistently has some of the cheapest booze around though.

Dan Murphy's sells Laph 10 for 56 a bottle, not too shabby at all. The problem with Nicks is they are so goddamn inconsistent; they charge 89 for a laph 10 but charge 70 for Ardbeg 10, it just doesn't make any sense. You're right though, we get seriously screwed on liquor here, can't wait for costco to open up in Canberra!

Yes, Nicks is very inconsistent, I was actually a bit surprised myself at the price when I looked it up. Vintage Cellars sometimes has it for $59 on special, but I think its around $70 normally. Nicks are very good for getting "odd" things which aren't available in (Perth) B&M's, ie Fee brothers bitters, Luxardo Liqueur etc
