Have fun!

Of course, "custom" = MTM. For those of us who do not fit into any standard AE (or Alden)
shoes, this program is nothing more than a marketing effort.

This is simply the old MTO program with a web interface. The interface is nice but the choices are still lacking as before.

Last choice, custom details....come aaaahhhhn!

Pretty cool. I can almost re-create those awesome Specs that Nucky wears in the opening of Boardwalk Empire....almost.

I might be tempted to order one if they decide to lauch a "custom made seconds line".

. With their vast experience with such product, it should be a piece of cake.

I think I may give this a try. The small mark-up just to get a size 11 on one foot and 11.5 on the other would be worth it.

Suede Park Aves anyone?

I stumbled across this feature on the AE site last week. Made a nice pair of Strand's in brown suede with Vibram sole (after I had just ordered a pair of "plain" Strand's in Walnut), then realized I could get some Alden wingtips in brown suede with Commando soles for about the same price. It seems like the Alden's would be a better shoe, correct?

"seems" is the key word.

Alden gives a better feeling of luxury/exclusivity than Allen Edmonds.

There is little to no difference in material and construction.
