Agree, saw a deco slip-on at Leffot, looks to be a good alternative to a formal pump.

Great thread, LC. My favorites are still CDM's stingrays.

I disagree. On the right shoe, the brogueing is practically touching (and it's as dead-on an angle as possible), on the left there is a ca. 2mm gap.
Now, that may sound like nit picking, but it jumped out at me right away.

At first I thought you were being absurd, but I see you're correct. In any case, these are beautiful. Once I receive my first G&G order and confirm the size, this will be next.

It's rather hard to ascertain in that photo, but IMO it looks as if the balance issue is still there. It was also always more prominent on larger sizes (>UK9), which is unfortunate. I would love to be proven otherwise, but EG's patterns seems to scale better than G&G's.

I agree. Think G&Gs look better in smaller sizes... issues regarding cap length and swoop of the wing and medallion size are evident in larger sizes. I consider that the EG balance is generally just right and G&G's is sometimes... well not. I know that the Gs have looked at the issue and the "Points" have been moved down a touch with the result that the caps are now slightly shorter... Part of it is simply an aethetic choice on the part of G&G I understand... to differentiate from EG I suppose. J
