It's a fine fit, it's just more of a MC look.
Quarter zips over tie are a staple there.

Quarter zips are a great way to add about 10 years.

Unc, you are seriously the last cat on here who should care, or hold an opinion of any sort on MC style. Come on. Get real.

Im not crazy about quarter zips but a lot of old man **** has recently been approppriated by the younger crowd. Cardigans, chukkas, plaids, etc.
I still hate chukkas, more LL bean than even quarter zips.

Cardigans and plaids can look fresh (as in, not stuffy) in the right context. It's almost impossible not to look like a young Republican with a quarter zip over your back.

I like my hair! But what do you suggest?

Thanks for the tip.

What does everyone think about the black wingtips? I wanted to go for them today to try to pull them off, but I know that brown is more popular here and do wear brown constantly.

Until recently there was little out there more old mannish than a cardigan.
They've reworked the fit, tweked a few things and now they've been reinvented.
20 years ago it was just Mr Rogers and kaptain kangaroo.

This changes nothing about quarter-zips.

Wax with hair? Unfortunately, I've never seen it done. I know it's a dumb question, but what distinguishes a look by using wax? Any long-term effects?

It just makes me wonder if you would have said the same about cardigans etc 20 years ago. It sounds like your perceptions are based on your associations with the quarter zip. Cant really blame you because it's a pretty square look. Could that change through time though, if they become appropriated for some irony or nostalgia? weirder things have happened.
