You could always try the spoon trick.

Just out of curiosity, how much do they go for on B&S/ ebay usually? I'm talking uncreased, no wear on the soles.

you mean new? as in brand new? they don't usually sell for that much less than retail. even lightly used you should expect to pay $500 + if it's a sought after model

Looking for any one that purchased the Leather Souls Plain Toe Flex boots in either the suede or the cognac Soft Calf. I am was hoping to get a review of the boot and any real world pics after some wear on them. I am looking to do a pre-order for them and just want to get some reviews if possible. Thanks in advance.

How difficult would it be to resole them with golf cleats? I guess the heel would have to go also.

Why doesn't Alden make golf shoes?

I checked into whether these could be made into golf shoes and found out that it's pretty easy. There is a cobbler linked on Sherman Bros. site that can do it. Also, there was an informative thread recently on golfwrx:

BTW - Have you seen the new Allen Edmonds Honors line? Nice stuff!

Alden should take note.

tromping around a potentially very wet/muddy/dirty/sandy golf course seems like a pretty odd use of shell. also you probably don't want it at all on super hot days.

also you would need a whole new sole (not just the heel) you don't want a leather soles golf shoe

long story short - buy some golf shoes

I agree, but a golf shoe like this, in calf, would be awesome.

Thanks for the tip about AE golf shoes, I hadn't heard about them. These aren't bad:

Got home today and found these waiting for me:

A pre-order from Leather Soul comes home to roost. I also picked up some colored laces and Saphir Renovateur. I actually only have dealt with Leather Soul only through email, PM and fax but decided to call and spoke with Bryson. Fantastic customer service as expected and he was able to answer my questions about some other stuff. I feel VERY happy with these Saddle Shoes. If it is not going to rain I will wear them tomorrow.

Now an update on some white suede saddle shoes I picked up a year ago. These things have at least 10 days of wear and most recently were called to duty at a beach wedding. I wore them with seersucker and people loved them but they were getting a little dirty:

Luckily I found a suede cleaning kit at Off Broadway shoes (I was looking for laces which they do not carry and heel pads to wear with my suede shoes so I could go sockless). After cleaning I am very happy with the results:

And someone had asked about Indy's with skinny jeans. I took a couple of bad pictures of #8 Cap toe boots on the modified last with skinny jeans. I wish the pics came out better. I wear all my alden boots with skinny jeans.
