Here they are, suit is a little loud by SF standards but not quite as bold IRL. I've toned down the accessories since to balance it out, but was having fun with it on its first appearance. I got the full open quarters and might tweak that next time. Divot-free and the back is pretty clean.
Before making an appointment with Elio, I would peruse the Tom James website and see what options are available to you. Many more choices than most MTM.

I don't think it's too outrageously loud...suit looks great! I think they did a really good job with the fit. I'm definitely going to check them out sometime within the next couple weeks.

Is this the Tom James site you were referring to?

They do have a ton of options...I'll do some homework before I go there to make sure I have a really good idea of what I'm looking for.

Sounds good...I'm excited to go there and check out some fabrics in person. I'm trying to stick with the No Purchase Club for April, so I really shouldn't be buying anything right now, but I'm really interested in this.

I'm waiting for a remake of an Indochino suit, so if that turns out OK then I can probably hold off on another new suit for at least a little while. Although, I'm sure the Indochino will turn out horrendous, so when it does I can return that one and get a new suit with E/A!

You wouldn't actually be purchasing in April, just getting measured and making a down payment.

The suit would be bought when delivered in late May or early June.

Definitely be insistent. I wasn't happy with my sportcoat despite specific instructions and 2 trips for alterations (an hour each way...). I won't be going back, but many here do like his product.

I think the suit quality is pretty decent considering you can get a fully canvassed MTM suit made using H&S fabric for about $700. Since their parent company also owns H&S, they are able to get some leftover H&S fabric at a great discount. I think their house style tends to be more conservative rather than fashion forward and more American rather than English in style.

^ Yeah, I was quoted that suits start at $595, for the most inexpensive fabrics. I think that's a really good deal for a fully canvassed MTM suit. I'll planning on heading there sometime within the next week or so, and I'll keep this thread updated with my experience.

+1. That's about how my jacket fit after the first round as well (but with even larger shoulders). I convinced him to take in the sides some, but he was adamant that it was perfect. Your pants also need work, but maybe you're not wearing a belt? Regardless, perhaps if you have the time for multiple trips and can convince mafoofan to foof it, you can work out the kinks. But I would not count on it.

Wow. I was considering going there and was warned that Elio didn't like slimmer fits, but this is just awful.

I'd seriously consider finding a new tailor to try to salvage that mess.

The pproblem is not that it's baggy, it's just cut awfully. I never like to poop on people's stuff, particularly noobs, but this is bad and you should not spend another penny on it. Don't get me wrong, you'll find mistakes from all the MTM/Bespoke operators, anyone who has gone that route has an item or two in their closet that they can't wear. This is just a poorly cut (shoulders/sleeves/collar/pants) suit that is literally worse than buying something off the rack. Unless you are a weird size or a drop 12 or something, I would guarantee you that for $600-700 or whatever this cost, you would have been better served with a Brooks Brothers/Ralph Lauren etc suit. Chalk this up as a learning experience and don't make the same mistake twice.
