Would 2 ply be too thick for summer use? I'm in houston where it's going to be 90+. I'm trying out MTM @ modern tailor and would like some recommendations of what to try.
I'm looking for casual shirts worn tuck with chinos, light trousers. Their linen choices are very limited. 1 ply cotton, seersuckers, oxford? I don't see any mdras on there so thats a bummer.

2 ply broadcloth is fine for the summer
just say away from heavier twills and royal oxford type fabrics.

madras is a very inexpensvie fabric. might not be worth the cost of having it made up unless you are a tough fit or want really specific details

Manton and others discuss linen/cotton. How do the 1-plys from quality mills like Thomas Mason hold up?

I am not a fan of the Zephyr weight thomas mason fabrics. I will be in the minority.
it is fine for summer weight fabrics. the construction is not great for year round use.

albini is weaving 60/1 and 70/1 compact yarns that are good for year round use.

I'm enjoying the Barbados line from Acorn, the cream and sky blue work really well. B
