Oh, I see. I definitely wouldn't pick them up for that price, even if there was a 20% deduction for VAT.

Yea, $345 is already including the VAT reduction

I had my moment of weakness, and, thankfully, that passed.

TBS seems to always have stock...but always at a premium...

With the Blackbird promotion they'd come to around $220. Also, anyone know how to size for these? I'm a 10.5 on the Brannock. 10.5 athletic sneakers / 10 dress shoes.

Funny, I wish the toebox was more aggressive

As for the YSLs, I agree that YSL makes pretty much the perfect ankle boot, but they're quite pricey for what they are. Unfortunately not many places are selling similar styling, I may have to shell out for a pair someday. As for centre-seam boots, I actually have a pair (see my review: http://harajuju.tumblr.com/post/6767...wear-zip-boot). The centre-seam is a bit of a turn-off initially but it provides quite a cool effect. Still, I'm feeling inadequate after looking at those YSLs, damn it. edit: though i can't decide if I prefer the 5cm heels in the ones you posted or the 6cm from the Jonny: http://sky.geocities.jp/brightdaysforme/00000011.JPG http://sky.geocities.jp/brightdaysforme/JB3.JPG )

Yeah I remember seeing those beatwear boots a while back. nice review. For the price, they are great, but I have been annoyed by that damn center seam. I see what you mean about the lengthening effect, but I feel that the toe box does plenty a good job of that as it is. I have a pair of Costume National chelsea boots from a couple years ago that I got at a big discount (750 down to 250--Costume National end of the season sales are excellent) that have a pretty nice sized heal, though not cuban shape. they have that perfect toe that you like (more "aggressive" than the ysls), but they have no split seam. They would be absolutely perfect if they were about .5''higher and side zip. As it is, they're excellent, I'll post some pics at some point.

These are horrendous. Save your $220 and look elsewhere.
