Slim tie in a four-in-hand knot w/ spread collar, why not?

Do you wear it, the (slim) tie tied in a FIH worn with a spread collar?

I know not many like slim ties. The pic below is the slimmest I wear at 2.5 inches. Admittedly, I am now partial to 2 7/8 inch slim ties. But I like the space, the void, the openness a FIH creates with a spread.

What collar is that on Charlie there? A cutaway?

And, I just noticed, that shirt isn't a two button collar. I don't know how that button got pinched like that.

I dislike it for the same reason.

It appears to me to be a fairly wide spread, but not a cutaway.

That 4inH looks wierd with that wide spread collar. A windsor knot would look more appropriate. As it stands, your neck looks like its sprouting wings.

OP, put on a jacket and you'll really see the contrast of a spread collar/thin tie.

The angle of the shot probably makes it look a lot worse than it is, but I don't like the four in hand with a spread collar.

Not sure. The "Prince of Wales" or "Regent" collar (from Turnbull & Asser) perhaps?
