17/43 the 43 is likely collar in cm.

If it was more like 17/34 then it would be neck size/sleeve length in inches. But 43 would be.. very large.
The shoulder to shoulder distance can be a useful number to help the shirt fit, the rest can be easily tailored.

My inseam and sleeve length are the same (33 inches.) Is this common? It seems like it could be but I've never heard anyone else comment on it.

I have 34 long arms and I'll wear a 34 with jeans and have stacks, but for a clean almost no break with dress pants it's 30.5

Apologies if this is the wrong place... College Student , No Money , First Suit. Just got back from the tailor, excuse the poor photos. Any criticism would be appreciated. 6'2 , 165 finding a suit was horribly difficult for me.

Gravity seems to work differently in your part of the world. Meanwhile, I'm too new to this to offer you advice. Others will be along shortly, I'm certain. Best to wait for them and ignore me. You look fine, to me BTW, except the pants are too long.

No because you will soon become a manorexic obsessed with working out and be a 38 in no time. Then you'll have to resize everything from 42 to 38.

This exact thing happened to me. nm I misunderstood the question. But yeah, don't get clothing for your body now, it will change soon.

Same thing happened to me. I have lost 130 pounds so far and am down to a normal BMI and every time I try on clothes I notice the fit more and more, i.e., shoulders, neck, waist, etc. No point in really settling in until my workout routine and weight is generally stable. That will probably take a while. For now all I am investing in is socks, under clothes, and shoes. Those are pretty much where they are going to stay.

Do they look at you funny when you go into the bank like that? Meanwhile, congrats on the buck thirty! I dropped a c-note myself last year and then backslid by ten pounds over the holidays. It's coming back off as we speak though. <sigh>

I joined after lurking for some time, so hello everyone. My boyfriend (late 20s) has pretty much just given up and is a cheapskate when it comes to clothing to begin with. Getting him to buy new stuff is like pulling teeth. As we get older, we get invited to more weddings each year. He wore a wrinkled flannel to his last job interview.

He needs a suit.

He's 6'8, 38 waist, no clue about jacket size. I'm assuming he need something made to measure but I don't even know where to start. Any suggestions/recommendations?

I have to remind myself it's a blessing he can't just go to the local cheapy dept. store and buy some atrocity.

Any thoughts on the Herring Belgravia made by Barker? I have no experience with the brand, and perceptions of their quality are scarce on this board apart from their Barker Black line.

I like the look of the little bit of extra broguing along the sides of the laces in addition to the toecap, which is why I first noticed it. But does that make it a quarter-brogue or just a punched cap-toe oxford with a little something extra?
