It was crazy how depleted the Seconds list was this time around (at least in my sizes). Spoke to Mark at ShoeMart and he told me they were expecting a big shipment of seconds in the near future (which I took to mean in the next few weeks), so hopefully there is some good stuff in that batch.

I just received a call from my regular Alden dealer and they have some ravello cap toe boots coming in the fall and I put my name down on a pair. Now I just have to wait.

Wore the natural chromexcel Indy Oxfords for the first time today. Out of all the Aldens they are the most comfortable right off the bat.

And who is the dealer. That's exactly what I've been looking for.
Thanks!

I've got a friend in Boston who's getting married in June.

He's wanting to buy his first pair of Alden shoes - probably long wings.

If he's already decided to pull the trigger on a pair, where could he go to get fitted and pick up on the same day? He doesn't have a lot of time to wait. Plus, he's willing to drive. Looking for stores that would have decent selection and size inventory on hand.

Shoe Mart in CT?
Places down in NYC?

thanks!

How does the amount of selection compare to the Shoe Mart and places in NYC?

Shoemart has more selection. but I mean, "looking for Alden's" sounds like a weird thing to me if he wants an Alden longwing, ok, but if he doesn't know what you want, I don't know why he first figures out what he wants, then figures out what brand is best for it. deciding what brand you want even before the style is really putting the cart ahead of the horse. I realize this is the Alden thread but something people can really put on the blinders.
