There are similarities. But his is a large-scale SB 3pc windowpane with wide lapels and a ticket pocket, whereas mine is a regularly-sized, but high-contrast glen plaid DB with narrow lapels. You'll see when I get the chance to take a full-length pic next time I wear it. Practically though, you're absolutely right that the same kind of pattern and colour combining considerations apply.

Leaving aside fit issues, I like the suit a lot. But I've grown to really dislike bengal stripe shirts (and in fact, almost any stripe) with such a strongly patterned suit, esp. when paired with a solid tie. Either go solid/solid for a safe (if IMO suboptimal) option when dealing with such a suit, or go for a solid shirt and a boldly-patterned tie (esp.a paisely of some sort). For a very daring look, a small or mid scale check shirt and boldly patterned tie would also work.

That's a bit ott for my liking but the guy looks good...

I think that is a 100-6, not a 3000. Nice Minilites too.

I know she was featured on Sartorialist, but these from Swagger 360 are very nice.

This chick looked much more flattering in the Sartorialist. The other ones I have seen popping up show her being less youthful, even old looking and wrinkly.
